Licensees are required to attain four courses: two mandatory credit courses and two elective credit courses, each worth three credits for a total of 12 credit hours. Courses must be attained by December 31, 2010. This is a change from the former deadline of Sept. 30 of odd-numbered years. ISAA successfully lobbied the legislature and Governor Quinn signed the bill establishing the even-numbered calendar year end to coincide with other states.
All licensees may attend courses given in districts other than their own. Licensees are not restricted to only courses offered in their districts. Courses are offered at the district level throughout the year. Check the Events Article entitled "Districts Meetings" on this site. If you would like to have continuing education at the district level, contact your District Chairman. Each district is required by the bylaws to have two meetings per year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Some are having as many as four meetings this year to help licensees easily attain their license renewal requirement.
