Happy New Year to you, your families and auctoin staff. It is easy to see that everyone is off to a great start for 2008 by visiting your websites and browing periodicals such as Collectors Journal and Farm Week. Good for you!
This year looks to be outstanding. Your ISAA Board of Governors has grown by adding at large members. Our showcase events such as the bid calling contest, sale of champions and participation at the U of I Ag Day will be made even better. Also, membership campaign and marketing ideas will be unveiled soon.
Furthermore, interest in being involved in the association remains high. More committed appointments were made this year as a direct result of new and veteran Auctioneers offering their time and considerable talents. Thank you. We look forward to your input. It will make us a better, stronger and more exciting association.
Please remember to thank Farm Credit Service every chance you can. They are a first class organization. Place your sale bills of their website, invite them to attend your auctions and ask them to speak at your district meetings. They are true friends to our association and we value this partnershp.
We want to know about you and your families "Life Achievements." Do you have a daughter who just got married? A son who went to state in wrestling? Whatever it is, let us know. We want to include the wonderful things happening in your family in the E-Zine. You are proud of these achievements, share them with us.
Please allow me to visit your district meetings. It would be an honor. I promise to listen to your ideas, work for the association, and will act on your behalf. Please call or email me with your meeting dates.
Finally, Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. This embodies our occupation as Auctioneers and the time that you men and women put into your craft.
All my best in 2008,
Jon Bloomberg, ISAA President
